MacBook Repair in Nairobi

Most MacBook problems in Nairobi get quoted as a logic board replacement, which is almost always the most expensive answer and often the wrong one. A lot of what we see is a failed charging circuit, liquid corrosion on a few components, or a battery that has swollen and pushed the trackpad up. Those are repairs, not replacements.

We work from Corner House on Kimathi Street in the Nairobi CBD, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm.

What we repair

Battery replacement

A MacBook battery that has swollen will push the trackpad upward until it stops clicking, and in bad cases will bow the case. If your trackpad has gone stiff or the laptop no longer sits flat, that is the battery and it needs doing.

Screen replacement

Cracked panels, backlight failure, flickering, and dark patches along the bottom edge. We tell you whether it needs the whole display assembly or just the panel.

Keyboard and trackpad

Keys that repeat, keys that do nothing, or a trackpad that has stopped clicking. On some models the keyboard is part of the top case, and we will tell you plainly if that is the case for yours before you commit.

Liquid damage

Do not keep trying to turn it on. Every attempt pushes current through a wet board and turns a cleaning job into a dead machine. Bring it in, we clean the board properly and assess what survived.

Will not turn on, will not charge

No power, no charging light, fans spinning with no display, or shutting down under load. These get diagnosed at board level before anyone talks about replacing anything.

Back up your data first

Run a Time Machine backup while the MacBook still lets you. Data preservation can never be assumed during hardware repair, and on a machine that is already failing it is the one thing you cannot get back.

Why we diagnose first

Board-level faults are where most of the money is lost in this trade. A shop that cannot test a board can only offer you a replacement. We would rather find the actual failed component, tell you what repairing it costs, and let you decide.

Send us your model

Find it under the Apple menu, About This Mac, or read the A-number on the underside, and send it before travelling so we can check parts availability.

How a repair works here

  1. Bring it in or send us the symptoms.
  2. We diagnose it and report what we found.
  3. You get a price before anything is replaced.
  4. Nothing is fitted without your go-ahead.
